You probably know there’s a relationship between leaky gut syndrome and autoimmunity, but do you know what leaky gut is? Leaky gut is not stomach pain, or diarrhea. Leaky gut is not something leaking out of your gut, it is something leaking through your gut, into your blood.
Leaky gut treatment
Have you been told that you don’t have celiac disease (an autoimmune disease), and to stop worrying about gluten? If so, you have been dissuaded from finding the right path to feeling healthy again. Well-meaning doctors may know nothing about detecting, or treating leaky gut. There’s no pharmaceutical leaky gut treatment, whether it manifests as autoimmunity or not.
Autoimmune treatment
Doctors who mean well, but know little about autoimmunity may say foods don’t affect your symptoms. That’s Nonsense. What you eat may be affecting your symptoms. What are some autoimmune triggers in the diet? Do you eat processed meat, processed chicken, like chicken nuggets, or fish sticks, and imitation crab? Adverse food reactions to “meat glue” may be delayed by up to 8 days. However, leaky gut does not cause stomach pain.
Do you have unpredictable food reactions? Unpredictable abdominal swelling and bloating, especially after eating? Increasing frequency of food sensitivity? Aches, pains, or swelling throughout your body? If some of your answers are yes, then your body’s reaction to food is important. For effective autoimmunity treatment we have to correctly assess if you have leaky gut (leaky gut syndrome). If leaky gut is present, we take the correct actions to help you. This is not a time for a do-it-yourself strategy. There are many aspects to leaky gut.
Autoimmunity, leaky gut and food sensitivity
There are relatively new blood tests to check for autoimmunity, leaky gut and food sensitivity. We can order them for you when you are under our care. Cyrex Labs is still considered relatively new, so there is no insurance coverage to reimburse you for the costs. But this is ok. If insurance were to ever get between you and these tests, it would probably triple the cost.
Your doctors may not know anything about blood tests from Cyrex Labs. Doctors would only know about these newer lab tests if they study leading-edge scientific literature about autoimmunity (not common).
