Integrative medicine for insomnia treatment
We find out which underlying causes of sleep problems and insomnia are present. After our detailed exam we can take a targeted treatment approach to help you, including an inability to stay asleep.
Sleep problems and insomnia are common, but we will find the insomnia treatment solution for you. The integrative medicine process is not like taking a fast acting drug, so your results might not be immediate. But so what? Sedation via drugs like Atavan does not give you quality sleep.
The goal is long-term improvement. Therefore, it may take a few evaluation visits to hit the many possible layers. The integrative doctor method for you to get a good night’s sleep is step by step. Be patient. With your treatment, we might have to wait until your condition unwinds enough for you to become healthy again. Then, normal sleep patterns should return.
We can treat insomnia from stress
Insomnia in children, or insomnia in adults can be from stress too. There is a wonderfully gentle chiropractic technique which can help take the “charge” off of stress. It’s called neuro emotional technique. We used it recently with an 11 year old boy who had months of persistent insomnia from stress. Additionally, we found two other factors that were part of his underlying condition and addressed those too. I’m happy to report that the child showed immediate improvement. His mother said she was skeptical at first, but saw the return to normal the night after his first treatment. He only came in once. It was a “one visit wonder,” like the textbook “miracle cure.” His immediate sleep improvement was amazing. Usually, it would probably take several re-evaluation office visits to see such dramatic results.
Sleep interruption from frequent urination
“It’s not my sleep quality, it’s my bladder.” Frequent urination is a disruptor of normal sleep duration. How many times do you wake up at night? Many people think that waking up several times at night to go pee is normal, but It’s not. You need uninterrupted sleep. There are reasons why you have to wake at night to urinate. It is not because you have an “overactive bladder,” or sensitive bladder. The overactive bladder label puts the emphasis on the wrong part. The bladder is not the underlying problem, it’s just another symptom.
Sleep apnea treatment
Interrupted sleep from sleep apnea, or snoring, contributes to fatigue and brain fog. There are integrative methods to address sleep apnea and the effects of sleep apnea. The treatments are based on your health history and our physical exam, and may include functional medicine or chiropractic methods. Our goal is less sleep interruption, and better sleep.
Can’t sleep because of night sweats
Do you wake up because you get hot and sweaty? There are causes for that. We have to get beyond excuses and blaming it on age. There are root causes of night sweats too. We will address them so that you can sleep better again. Step by step, you’ll get a good night’s sleep.
